Founder Story
From Kusamba
to Jimbaran.
I Gusti Ngurah Raka Founder & Owner · Cosala Art Shop Jimbaran
Born in Kusamba in 1968, Raka grew up in a simple coastal community where responsibility, persistence and hard work were part of everyday life.
In October 1989 he moved to Jimbaran to begin a new chapter. He worked through different roles in hospitality while slowly building his own path in business. In 1993, that entrepreneurial journey took shape through an art shop of his own.
Years of change, challenges and even business setbacks never ended that journey. In 2023, Cosala Art Shop became a new beginning — and from there Cosala continued to grow into the multi-service destination it is today.

A New Start in Jimbaran
Leaving Kusamba and beginning a new life in Jimbaran with determination and the courage to start from the bottom.
The First Art Shop
While working in hospitality, the first independent art-shop journey began and entrepreneurship became part of the path forward.
Cosala Was Born
A fresh chapter began with Cosala Art Shop. The name was inspired by the place once known locally as Puri Kosala, reshaped into a distinct Cosala identity.
